Hello Oliver,

the problem of sizing your TSM Server depends on many factors. Not all of
them can be discussed in a short amount of time.
A good point to start with are the Microsoft Technical White Papers for
Exchange. You will find a few that can help you with sizing your Exchange
Servers. If you cannot influence this topic you have to evaluate the
existing environment on factors like
number of servers
number of mailboxes per server
maximum mailbox size (50MB?)
number of public folders, their size and number of replicas
if communication is critical for the success of your customer, a lot of
traffic can be expected and the transaction logs will be large (perhaps > 5%
of the private information store size)
backup strategy: full database backup every night plus differential every
2 hours for example (or how much data over the last few hours can your
customer afford to lose)

If you have more and detailed questions just ask.

With kindest regards

Volker
