On the surface this may sound kind of silly, but there may be a good
business case for archiving a weeks worth of data to serve as backup to a
high turnover backup copy group. The question doesn't specify what the need
is for, just if it can be done. I agree that it doesn't make much sense to
do this when you could extend the backup retention periods just as easily.
