Thanks for the info.

Yes, I am going to use both libraries.  The L06 will be redeployed to hold all
the data from our NT cluster.

What I am trying to fix is that the person who set up our ADSM system several
years ago named the L06 Device Class "DEV01", which is utterly meaningless in my
book.

I would like to rename the device class or move the tapes/data to a new device
class, but the only way I can think to do that requires that I move 600 GB of
data three times.  Yuck.  That's a lot of data movement to change one object
name.

I'll just update the DEV01 device class to the new library and move the tapes.

Do you intend to use both libaries together for any reason. If not then...
...as you are moving from an L06 to an L12 all you need to do is note the
current scsi id's used for the L06 and setup the 1st and 2nd drives in the
L12 to be the same from the library front panel.

Then
shutdown TSM and swap the libraries.
transfer the tapes over
restart
audit the library
define any additional drives
