Volker,

It is not a requirement to have two separate
scheduler services but I recommend it.
It will make your life easier.

There should not be a conflict running more that
one scheduler service on any particuar machine.

If you have only one scheduler service, and the
backup windows of the scheduled events overlap,
it could cause problems of events being missed.

Also, since schedules are tied to a NODENAME,
and since you should have separate NODENAMEs
for your Exchange client and base client,
it makes it easier to keep the two completely separate.

If you are still having problems getting
two scheduler services to run on the same machine,
please open a problem with IBM support.

Thanks,

Del

Hello Del and hello Jack,

thanks for your answers.
Your are right, named Del: the scheduler service didn't even kick off the
batch file. The batch file itself works fine.
So it's not a backup or communication problem with my server (named pipe
comm.,btw), Jack.
There are two scheduler services running ont the server, the regular
scheduler service and the Exchange Scheduler Service.
After checking the Event Log today i noticed that the regualar Scheduler
Service halted. That entry was informational only.
I assume a conflict between the scheduler services.

Do i need only one despite the recommendations in the Conncect Agent
Documentation?

Any information is appreciated

Volker
