Hi Ruth,

I have already raised the issue of the missing READMEs
internally, and hopefully that will be addressed soon.

If you download and extract the install image, you will
find the file READ1STC.TXT (which is the client "READ ME
"FIRST" file) in the TSMCLI\WIN32\INTEL\READMES
directory.

The section about installing the client in the README
file discusses issues of when a reboot is necessary.
If the install program is unable to install a newer
version of a particular file because that file is
locked (by the OS or some other application), then the
file will have to be copied upon the next reboot (the
install program takes care of creating the mechanism to
do this). In short, it is a run-time decision that can
not be easily predicted. That said, no guarantees, but
I would not think that a reboot on Windows 2000 would
normally be necessary.

"The only dumb question is the one that goes unasked."

Looks like the i386 *SM 3.7.2 client (IP21933) was re-released early this
morning, but without any README files. If anyone has already sampled this
release and has commentary, please let us know how it looks.

Can the 3.7.* clients be installed over the top of a pre-existing 3.7
client, or is it necessary to deinstall first? I'm beginning to install
on Windows 2000 Advanced servers, and getting away with client upgrades
with no rebooting would be so nice...

Thanks.
