Del:
I did try adding the /SQLPWD password parm to the command line and firing it
off in a DOS prompt and it worked.
Would you know why it might be required on this one server and not the others.
I do have the password set via the GUI interface with the save password
selected, and the GUI does do the backup without a prompt for a password.
I thought the password was encrypted and stored and accessible when the command
line or script was executed.

Larry,
1. What level of the SQL Application Client are you running?
2. What is the EXACT command-line syntax that you are using?
3. Did you try specifying /SQLUSER: and /SQLPWD: or /SQLSECURE options?
4. Are your running on a cluster server? (MSCS)
5. What happens when you use the "/SQLSERVER:your-server-name" option?
Thanks,
Del

Subject: MS-SQL Agent connection error
Hi:
We currently have 5 MS-SQL Agents and 4 run with no problem.
The one with the problem ( not doing a scheduled backup ) has this error in
the dsmsched.log: AC04210E
A backup using the GUI does run with no problems and has the password saved
so I am assuming it is not a userid / password problem to the database.
This particular database is on a proxy server.
Any suggestions on determining the cause of the connection error?
