I'm guessing you would be Fibre connecting the SUN TSM Servers to a Gateway then
you can cross configure the two scsi ports off the 3590
and share the 3494 drives with TSM servers directly. When SAN would play
you can insert a switch for storage and other tape functions.

OK, you have 3590 & library used together ? ? ?
Yes, each of my 3494 ATL's has at least 2 *SM servers and at most 4 *SM
Each *SM has dedicated 3590 drives ('bout 4 per server)
Just make sure yourSCRATCH & PRIVATE categories are different for each
server in an ATL
and I went as far as to make different S & P categories for each server at a
site in case I need to (and have) moved servers from one atl to another
