I wonder if anyone else has seen this. I am using ADSM V3.1.2.50 on OS/390.
I have been trying to collect statistics about how much data is being
transfered by each node (currently at 27 but about to grow).

I have been going through the server log (using the ADSM Admin Client on my
pc) and capturing the message:

04/28/2000 09:57:38,ANE4961I (Session: 460, Node: LYRA.VCU.EDU) Total
number of bytes transferred: 5.85 MB.

I thought this would always give me the total count for each session. Then I
found this:

04/25/2000 15:22:30,ANE4961I (Session: 5559, Node: LYRA.VCU.EDU) Total
number of bytes transferred: 12.02 KB ,
04/25/2000 15:32:40,ANE4961I (Session: 5559, Node: LYRA.VCU.EDU) Total
number of bytes transferred: 902.21 MB ,
04/25/2000 15:33:47,ANE4961I (Session: 5559, Node: LYRA.VCU.EDU) Total
number of bytes transferred: 993.10 MB ,
04/25/2000 15:33:47,ANE4961I (Session: 5559, Node: LYRA.VCU.EDU) Total
number of bytes transferred: 993.10 MB ,
04/25/2000 15:42:48,ANE4961I (Session: 5559, Node: LYRA.VCU.EDU) Total
number of bytes transferred: 1.54 GB ,
04/25/2000 15:42:48,ANE4961I (Session: 5559, Node: LYRA.VCU.EDU) Total
number of bytes transferred: 1.54 GB ,
04/25/2000 15:42:53,ANE4961I (Session: 5559, Node: LYRA.VCU.EDU) Total
number of bytes transferred: 1.55 GB ,

Instead of *ONE* final TOTAL, it produces 7 "total" messages for the same
node, session, etc. Each "total" is an continuation/accumulation from the
previous message. So, instead of 1.55GB transfered, I get almost 8GB for
this node.

This made a mess of things since I was simply adding up the total bytes per
day, not realizing that I was getting duplicates. This doesn't happen for
every node nor every day but have found it for more than one node.

Any ideas on what is going on here ?

Please don't tell me about the "latest and greatest TSM product" that will
solve all my problems. I am aware of them. Don't have them. Don't plan to
buy them (except for when we are forced to get TSM vs. ADSM, when ADSM
support drops dead).
