All,

Does anybody have a handy UNIX script that will allow me to
perform a repetitive archive of various files on a host to *SM.

What I have is a customer who needs to archive & delete thousands
of files with various names spread among thousands of other files
that need to stay on the system.  I have a flat text file with
one line per file (or filename plus wildcard).

I can try to write a loop program that will go through the file
line by line and perform an archive & deletion of each file or
string specified, but I figured somebody has problem already
done this and has retained the script.

Or if there is a better way to satisfy my customers requirement
we can discuss that as well.
