Thanks, I passed your answer on, but they say that's not what they meant to
ask. What they want is the profile of the user which always fails, such as
\WINNT\Profiles\Fred\NTUSER.DAT' failed
In other words, someone important lost his "pretties" including the running
dinosaur mouse cursor. Is this a place where a preschedule option would be
applicable? Something like
preschedcmd copy profile to another folder
I don't know if that's something you can do in WinNT, but it looks like
that's what they want.

Hi Fred,
take a look a the following manual: SG24-2231 "Windows NT Backup and
Recoverywith ADSM"
The Desktop alone is not restorable. But the registry containing the
settings for the user is restorable. (REGREST cmd)
Take a look at the archives, there the chapter "bare metall restore" for NT
has also been disussed.

The guys testing "Bare-Metal Restores" just asked me how to restore the
desktop. Not being a NT person, I couldn't answer. Is there something
special in restoring the desktop?
