Jeff,
If you have huge numbers of files/versions you get a huge database.
Are you running expire inventory every day.
Can you reduce the number of files/versions.
Negotiate with the users make sure you are only backing up what is really
needed.
Query all your clients to make sure that they are all still valid ie. you have
not got old clients which no longer physically exist and whose filespaces can be
deleted.

My ADSM database is growing at a fairly alarming rate, the database is almost 17
gig now and I would like very much to shrink or compress it... I had several
RS6000s that (thanks to SQL Backtrack) got up to around 1 TB before they were
caught. I have expired the tapes and audited the library but the DB is still
huge... Please help a Newbie out and tell me how to shrink the DB.
