I'm not sure if I understand your question but yes you can have multiple
storage pools defined in the same library and distinquish which
storagepool/copypool a volume belongs to by issuing a q vol. Here are some
volumes showing two storage pools and a copypool
000255 AIX3590ARCH 3494ATAPE 25,916.6 100.0 Full
000256 OFFSITEVOLS 3494ATAPE 0.0 0.0 Empty
000257 OFFSITEVOLS 3494ATAPE 9,516.8 19.8 Full
000258 OFFSITEVOLS 3494ATAPE 0.0 0.0 Empty
000259 OFFSITEVOLS 3494ATAPE 13,458.0 56.5 Full
000260 OFFSITEVOLS 3494ATAPE 0.0 0.0 Empty
000261 NT3590BACK 3494ATAPE 9,340.2 69.7 Full
000262 NT3590BACK 3494ATAPE 9,329.5 97.2 Full
(gaps in the sequence would indicate those volumes are currently in scratch
status.)

Can someone tell me if this situation is possible?
I have 1 3570 tape drive setup( the second half of the
tape drive) as a automated library. I have this setup
and running to where migration from the PRIMARY
BACKUPPOOL migrates off to scratch volumes in the Tape
library. Is it possible to initialize a tape under
the same library where the ARCHIVE pool migrates off
to a specific tape in the library TAPE#xx. I guess my
question is CAN YOU SHARE A TAPE LIBRARY WITH TWO
STORAGE POOLS AND DISTINGUISH BETWEEN DIFFERENT
VOLUMES? If this is possible HOW???????
Thanks
