Bob:
The TDP for Notes as well as the older Lotus Notes agent's are at a pretty
stable point in there life cycle. They work, there are positives and
negatives as there are with everything in technology. If you are in a Notes
environment that has control of there ever expanding disk space the TDP for
Notes should not give you any problems. Be sure to understand it's
strength's and weaknesses , so you can apply them to your environment.
everyone has a different slant on the good and the bad)
If you have relatively large databases ( can't afford the multiple versions
of complete backups of the same data) and need to fit your backup's into a
pretty tight window,( can't afford the time it takes to run the multiple
backup versions all night every night) where tape storage is a
remium,( can't afford to fill up multiple tapes with the same data day after
day) I would use the TDP for Notes. One weakness of backing up notes with
the Backup/Archive client as you know is *SM wants to backup every NSF every
day due to replication, etc.. This is where the TDP for Notes can come in
handy and do a good job.
