Andy - If you have just one client doing backups, a simple way would
       be to have the library volumes read-only, and have an admin
schedule change the desired volume to read-write before the client
schedule ran.  Or instead of using scratches in your library you could
assign volumes to storage pools, play games with management classes, etc.
In general, though, the specific-tape scheme is not used in modern
backup regimens.
