        Richard's reply is very, very well put.  I have an NT client that
runs for over 9 hours to back up as few as 20 items from a single directory.
The client has over 210,000 Word document files in the one directory.  It is
also a 5 year old Digital server with 133 MHz processors, 128 MB RAM, and a
10/100 NIC.  No wonder it takes forever!!!.

        I would be happy to achieve the rate of 1.5 GB/hr on my clients.
Most are doing great to get about 1 GB/hr.
