They did made enhancements to the product.
Just as you, I believe as well that for a major release
and major expense associated with that,
the changes should have been more apparent.
But there really are reasonable improvements 
in the 3.7 product.
If they later happen to add in 3.7+ version 
some of announced / hoped for
functions, like 
full SAN support,
sub-level differencing client,
data encryption & better firewall-ability
to name only few, 
then the pricing will be OK,
at least for my understanding.
