1). ?
2). For HA, yes 2 IP addresses should be used.
3). define library for TSM. The 2 ip addresses are specified in your
/etc/ibmatl.conf file...
4).use the latest...I'm at 4.0.7.0 for the atldd, and 5.0.2.0 for Atape (3590)

Subject: HA 3494 config ?

Hello all-

Can anyone provide help with configuration information for an HA 3494 control
point (two library managers). Currently, we've got some AS400's and an AIX box
connected via RS232, and are now trying to connect the AIX via TCP/IP over
Ethernet due to other requirements. We can't seem to get the lan connection to
initialize on the 3494. Interestingly, at another of our locations the AIX was
hooked via lan and functional, then AS400's were added via RS232 and the lan
stopped functioning.

1) Is this a supported configuration? Can one use BOTH a lan and RS232
connection simultaneously?

2) Are there two TCP/IP addresses required for the 3494? (our CE's are a bit
confused)

3) As the AIX box runs ADSM/TSM, what is the configuration setup needed for the
lmcpd for the lan connection ?

4) What is the minimum level of drivers and/or microcode needed to support this?

TIA,
Al Barth
