Actually - for a while now, there is a BRMS API client for TSM for AS/400.
This requires that you have BRMS on the client AS/400 and also will only
work with V4R3 or higher. If these apply to your environment, take a look

Implementing ADSM on AS/400 (soon to be re-issued and updated for Tivoli
Storage Manager). It covers both the server and client setup for AS/400.
The good news is that the API client part is free (you only have to buy the
BRMS!)
