just two more questions to make it complete for me:

1. Which level of microcode of 3590 is needed ?
   Mine is A429 (tapeutil -f /dev/rmt0 vpd).

2. Which command shows me usage of 3494SHARED YES ?
   Neither q option nor q status ( or select * from status / option ) seems to
mention the setting of 3494SHARED.
