Re: Collocation problem

I am looking into using collocation for my ADSM setup but I only have 1
3490E unit with 10 slots but only one drive. How can I force adsm to write
multiple nodes to 1 tape if neccessary ?
Thanks,
Joel McCarty

Peter,
I'm sure that is not a problem. We use collocation and force adsm to
put multiple nodes on a tape by limiting the number of scratch tapes
in the storage pool and have never had problems with i/o errors.

The problem is that i am running Collocation=yes, but there is still data
from different
notes on the same tape. And that causes the I/O error.
ADSM can not handle data from different serveres on the same tape, when the
tapepool
is defined with Collocation=yes.
I agree that if the problem is an I/O error, i should handle that problem
first.

Peter,
if you have I/O errors, you should investigate in order to solve them
first of all. I don't think they are in any way related to a "should I
collocate or not collocate" Hamlet dilemma.
Thank you
