'q occ' works good for getting the amount (size) of data being stored, but
not so good at getting a count of files. Unfortunately it doesn't break
down the number of files into active and inactive. It also includes
directories in its count of files.

Try issuing 'q occ'
If your system has a lot of filespaces, you might want to redirect the
output
to a
text file so you can load it into a spreadsheet to total the numbers.
