Nick,

We have DRMDBBACKUPEXPIREDAYS set to 10 and we are running the checkin and
checkout steps once a week on Tuesday. Gives us 3 days of "grace" time ?? We
haven't been deleting any DBB tapes from Volhist. I didn't think that was
required with DRM ??

them in the library

                Curt,

I had the problem where I was losing tapes at the vault, not
in the
library. We delete from the volhist database backup tapes
after 7 days,
but DRM wants to keep database backup tapes in the library
for 30 days by
default. Unfortunately, once the "del volhist type=dbb
todate=-7" runs,
ADSM loses track of the tape (no more volhist record).
Doing a "q drmstat"
will show you how long DRM wants to keep the DBB tapes
offsite, and you can
change it with the " SET DRMDBBACKUPEXPIREDAYS" command.
The change is
                immeadiate.

We were losing one tape per day before I caught this one.

If you don't have the time to do it right the first time,
where will you
find the time to do it again?
