I did not track mine by elapse time but by total gigs/elapse time.  This
gives an effective through put.  We have some big oracle databases on the
order of 500G.  Through put without compression approx. 12-15 G per hour,
with compression 25-27 G per hour.  And as stated previously, this saves on
network and disk pools.  This was with multiple clients doing backups at the
same time.  P.S. most of the oracle tables compressed really well 80% or
more.
