You are recommending NOT to upgrade to version 3.1.2.40 or 3.1.2.50 of the
ADSM server?

What is wrong with 3.1.2.50?

I am at version 3.1.2.20 and things seem to be running fine.

I do receive the following error message when starting tape reclamation:
ANR9999D afmigr.c(2619): Reconstruction of aggregates is disabled.
Run audit reclaim utilities to re-enable reconstruction of
aggregates.

The reclamation process continues and everything seems okay.

IBM recommended going to version 3.1.2.50 to correct the problem.

3.1.2.40 has problems with hanging expiration processes. I am
running
3.1.2.42 (fixtest) on Solaris and AIX, without problems. My AIX
server is
at 4.3.2.0. You do not need to upgrade your clients at the same
time.

As for going back, since the DB is almost always "upgraded", it
usually
involves restoring your DB from the last backup taken at 3.1.2.30,
which
means you loose all backups under the new version.

        So, in summary:
            1. 3.1.2.40 is not a good version
            2. You do not have to upgrade clients
            3. Going back is a bad option, unless you do it withing 24 hours

        Recommendation:
            1. Go to 3.1.2.42, or stay on 3.1.2.30
