I'm not a fan of the ADSM bare metal restore.
We have an image ( Ghost Professional) of all the 95 machine types. If a
users machine is toast we re-image the machine with the appropriate image.
The image has the base apps also along with ADSM client. We configure the
machine with the users information which re-create the profile and then we
restore the data files only. It take 15 minutes to re-image and then data
restore. It's cleaner. One of our issues with the bare metal restore was
that if the machine had corrupted OS or registry information we may be
re-introducing the problem back on to the maching and chasing our tale.
