Kristopher:
I'm assuming the data movers are physical and not logical. If that is the
case, then TSM is a logical backup - TSM is installed on each host and if
you backup the disk from that host -- you will only end up with duplicate
copies. But they are logical -- not physical. When you say you want to go
through the data movers -- is this via a host or via emc only?
I'm curious as to how this is set up -- maybe we can talk?
Thanks, Gail.

Subject: TSM 3.7 and EMC Data Movers
Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2000 19:28:11 -0500
hello...
does anyone have experience using ADSM 3.x or TSM 3.7 with the EMC Data
Movers? my concerns are whether or not i can use ADSM/TSM to back up data
on EMC Symetrix Disk Arrays via a direct connection to the Data Movers and
preserving the Access Control Lists. EMC allows access to any exported
volume by a variety of different host types simultaneously. i may be
forced to use Legato due to it's EMC Data Mover Agent and NDMP compliance.
HELP! i do not want to go that route if i can help it..
thanx in advance..
~kris
