I/O error reading label

Hello,
I am having a problem reading a couple of Magstar 3570 cartridges.
When accessing the cartridge I am receiving an I/O error stating that it can
not read the label on the cartridge. Is there any known way to get to the
information on the cartridge and bypassing the label. Any help would be
great.
