How are you deleting the file?  Through explorer or from the command line?
If you are deleting it from the command line then this is wierd, if you are
deleting from explorer, then it may be going into the "recycle bin",
therefore the space is still used.   This could be as simple as the
"recycle bin" settings for that volume (10% of the disk as default).

Hi,

have anybody this phenomenon, I had it three times?

System: NT4.0 (SP4 or 5)
        ADSM 3.1.2.20 or 50

I create a volume (or logvolume, or dbvolume) on a new RAID 5 system (63
GB) with the ADSM Utilities or with the command line (def volume...)

There are no problem when the size is 100 MB or 200 MB.

But when I create a volume greater then 300 MB (Test with
400/500/1000/20000 MB), the properties under NT said me that for example 9
GB are in used, although only a 400 MB File was created.

When I delete this file, the used space is 8,6 GB, although there are no
file on the RAID system!

To keep the space back I can only format the disk drive.

When I make two partions of the RAID system (10GB and 53GB) I have no
problems to create large ADSM volumes on both drives.
