Ruud,
We moved our ADSM server in a SYSPLEX environment, shared DASD and catalogs
about 1 year ago. If you have MAGSTAR tapes cataloged you will need to make sure
that the information is available on the new LPAR. If you are sharing DASD then
there is no reason that you can't share the catalogs as well. This also
addresses your tape management question shared dasd and now you can share tape
management systems. Otherwise there isn't much else to worry about.

a happy and healthy new year to you all to begin with ......
has anyone any experience in moving os/390 ADSM server to another LPAR on
the
OS/390 mainframe ??
we want a separate LPAR with just ADSM running(and JES, TSO ,RMM , VTAM,
HSC) .....
are there some things to be considered apart from connecting the DASD to
that LPAR and
changing to a new IP address ..... what about the existing Magstar
cartridges, which are not
cataloged ???
some considerations regarding tape management system i.e. RMM perhaps ???
or is it just a matter of connecting the DASD on which the recovery log
,database and
storage pools reside and start up ADSM !!!!!???????
