You can make sure you have QUIET in your opt file instead of verbose, that can
cut down the size too...

Yes there is a schedlogret (Sched log retention parameter) you can set for a
specific number of days in the dsm.sys or dsm.opt file as appropriate for
your you operating system as appropriate.
