Maybe my problem description was a little vague.
I am getting an error message: "Error calling sbtinit for tape management
software". This happens when I try to register the target database. An ORACLE
support guy found a hit for this message on their support database, but it was
in 1997 and the response was that we should make sure that the varification file
was in the agent's directory. We double-checked, and the file is there.

We did apply the Connect agent ptf: 2.1.7d
As you suggested; I change the environment variable:
DSMI_DIR=/usr/lpp/adsm/api/bin

Our local ORACLE support guy thinks, the problem is with EBU. Do I have to
configure anything in EBU; other than setting the environment variables:
$EBU_HOME and PATH.

Any further suggestions?
