You cannot use LVD drives on a differential adapter.

You'll need to buy an LVD interface from IBM.  I can't remember the part
number offhand.

The LVD drives are dual mode, and will work on a single-ended SCSI bus, but
you don't want to leave them that way because the bus will run at 10MB/sec
in SE mode instead of 80MB/sec for LVD mode.
