Normally, if you have the element address wrong, the define drive command
won't work. But to be sure, you can run lbtest -dev lb1.0.0.0 (on NT) or
lbtest -dev /dev/lb1 (or whatever on UNIX). lbtest will allow you find out
what element addresses are associated with what drives. The steps in lbtest
are as follows:

Select manual test
then 6 to open the library
then 8 to return element count
then 9 to get the elements themselves.

On NT, ADSMSCSI (the device driver for ADSM) needs to be runnning.

Next, make sure you have your device class mountlimit large enough. It
should be equal to the number of drives in the library.

What message are you getting in the activity log? Be specific.

Good luck and let us know the outcome.
