I know about dumpel.exe but the format is unreadable by the event viewer.

I'm going to go with my previous idea to do a "dsmc eventb entire" in a
preschedulecmd.
It's just a pity that there isn't an equivalent option for backupreg in the
dsm.opt that can backup event logs.
It would be so much easier that way.

        You could always use something like :

        DUMPEL.EXE which comes with the NT Resource Kit.
        Dumps event logs to a tab separated text file and ADSM would
        back these up as normal files.
        You could also make a DUMPEL.CMD command file and run as a
        -PRESCHEDULECMD=DUMPEL.CMD
