Offhand, I can't think of any way to put the tape ejection under the direct
control of the ADSM scheduler, but there are less painful alternatives to the
MVS console command.

OAM (Object Access Method, the MVS component that carries out the console
command mentioned above) also has a macro interface that can be used from a
program running under MVS. IBM supplies a sample program named CBRSPLCS, which
is built around the macro interface. With this program you could set up a
three step batch job, with the first step running the administrative client
under background TSO to obtain a list of volumes to be ejected, the second
step converting the output to the format expected by CBRSPLCS, and the third
step running CBRSPLCS.

Are you are using CA-7 or some other tape management system in conjunction
with OAM? If so, you will have other choices, and other concerns about the
integrity of the tape catalog.
