Port 1580 is by default the value for the HTTPPORT option, and will probably
not do what you want to back up the client.  It's used for the web gui.  You
want to open the port that is associated with the TCPPORT option, which is
by default port 1500.

If you spend some time understanding the ADSM security model, you may have
more luck with your security team.  ADSM never passes the password in the
clear, but rather uses it to encrypt a message that only the correct client
will be able to decode.  Also, if the hole that is opened is opened only to
the ADSM server, which is listening with ADSM on that port, the black hats
are locked out, as they should be.
