Hi Bill:
When you have the search=bulk parm in the command and checklabel=barcode then
you do not need the volsers...
Try this command
checkin libvol stk9730 search=bulk stat=scratch checklabel=barcode
after this do enter the following command q request
this will give you the request number and what it wants you do i.e. Fill the
entry/exit port of stk9730 with volumes and reply when ready
After you have put the tapes in the entry exit port enter the following command:
rep xxx : where xxx is the reply number associated with the request ,
obtained by entering q req.
This should work fine.

Unlike the Hotel California, Hotel RI allows you to check-out, but you
never check back-in!
Help! Our ADSM expert is on vacation so as the AIX administrator I said
"I can do that"! This is week two and my pool of scratch tapes runith
empty. When I try to return tapes this is what I get:
adsm> checkin libv stk9730 000139 search=bulk status=scratch
checklabel=barcode
ANR2020E CHECKIN LIBVOLUME: Invalid parameter - SEARCH.
ANS8001I Return code 3.
What incantation must I enter to appease the evil Gods of syntax?
Thanks
