Yes, but there may still be a problem.  You see, when you perform a checkin
the system does not check to see if the tape has a valid label or if there
is one at all.  It simply takes what it reads off the barcode and puts it
into the library.  When the tape is requested, the system inserts the tape
and then checks the label that is written on the tape and if the tape is
new, thus, not having a label, the process requesting the tape will fail.

Therefore, if you are going to checkin a new tape that does not have a
label written on it - or if you are unsure - use the label libv command.
Use help label libv to get the correct syntax.  Also, as someone already
pointed out, remember to reply to the requests.
