Dick,
By default DHCP backs itself up every hour and if you setup Wins correctly
it will back itself up every 24hrs.
You don't need to stop and start the services.

You are right. We don't have any problems with the NTUSER.DAT files
from the
users, but there are services running that lock the file. Think
about wins and
dhcp services. We now have to stop those services first before the
ADSM backup
starts.
