And what is wrong with that? There's no purpose in having the source tape
read-write, and is even hazardous should the copy fail due to a bad output
tape, for example. Remember that tapes are not "updated" (it's not a
capability of the medium): rather, ADSM keeps track of what remains on the
tape via its database.
