Steve,
There is no confusion on this end. Yes, ADSM can backup multiple clients
at once to one disk volume. But for optimal performance one should
create several logical volumes based on the number of averaged simultaneous
clients sessions. So if you normally backup 10 clients at once, for
optimal performance, create 10 (or more) logical volumes instead of a only
a couple.
The reason this is best is because the ADSM server will launch an
additional server thread for each logical volume he has to manage. And
as we all know, the more threads a process has, the more parallelism
employed.
