I know, I know! You can't define the tape drive to NTBackup when using ADSM
for NT. ADSM's drivers won't recognize the tape drive.
O.K. So how do you remove the tape device from NTBackup?

Subject: Re: 3494 configuration for new ADSM AIX
Server
I used the exit routine, CBRUXENT on the OS/390
machine, to validate
the volume serial numbers of tapes entered into the
ATL. The serial
numbers on my OS390 tapes start with "A" and the serial
numbers on my
AIX tapes start with "B". Tapes that start with "B", I
set the ignore
return code which leaves them in the insert category in
the ATL. When
I do a checkin from the AIX side it takes all tapes in
the insert
category and checks them into the AIX side. There is a
sample exit in
SYS1.SAMPLIB(CBRSPUXE).

Subject: 3494 configuration for new ADSM AIX Server

Hello all,
We've got a problem with our IBM 3494 Tape Library that we
want to share with
our OS390 ADSM & new AIX ADSM Server environments.
The library has up to now been used solely for the OS390
environment for all of
our mainframe tape requirements. DFRMM is the management
software that ADSM has
an exit to to control the tape usage.
We have now installed another Server on an AIX platform and
we have defined two
drives & the library to that Server. However, whenever a
cartridge is entered
into the library, the library assigns it to the OS390
environment before we are
able to issue a 'Checkin' command from the AIX server.
Does anybody know if there is a configuration change that
needs to be applied on
the 3494 library to allow to seperate environments to use
the ATL.
Can anybody help!?!?!
Thanks,
Nick.
