We are using HSM on several AIX (4.2.1) file systems. The client code
is 3.1.0 while the server code is 3.1.1.5. I realise these could do
with a bit of an upgrade but they have been very stable for us.

Anyway we are having a problem with one of the file systems when it
tries to build a migration candidate list. It keeps saying that there
is nothing to migrate, although it is very full, way above what the
thresholds are set at.

It seems to take a long time (hours) to work this out and thrashes the
disk (where the HSM file system resides) for almost this whole time.

It also spits out the following error messages in the dsmerror.log file
on the client:

08/10/99 11:03:10 Attempt to free unknown pointer. Addr 202ad120,
File dsxcomm.c, Line 1709
08/10/99 11:03:33 Attempt to free unknown pointer. Addr 2002e3f0,
File migfstat.c, Line 229

08/10/99 11:03:33 Attempt to free unknown pointer. Addr 2002e3f0,

Anybody have any ideas what might be going on?

If all else fails we will upgrade client (& maybe server) code to see
if that helps.

Regards,
Simon
