One of the most frustrating scenarios we have repeatedly encountered is that
the IS will not start, but not die, either.  No messages are generated, the
store just hangs there in limbo until you kill the process (we have let it
sit for quite some time to see if it would ever start).  I have worked with
IBM and MS in the past on this, but we never determined the problem.  Has
anyone else encountered this particular problem?
