I got this error when i ftp'd the file to my adsm bod i didn't do it
in binary mode, set mode to I and re-ftp'd it and it worked like a charm

        I downloaded the latest fix(U464970) for ADSM server for AIX from a
        ftp server called index.storsys.ibm.com. The above fix was in
        /adsm/fixes/v3r1/aixsrv/LATEST.SERVICE on this server. The file size
was
        aprox 19MB. During the installation, it produced an unpacking file
size
        error. I also ftp'ed some other install images(Uxxxxxx.bff) from
this server
        and they are all installed fine.
