I'll echo all of Tom's comments and add to the din.

From the original message, it appears operations is not interested in using
ADSM the way it was designed.  I'm a big proponent of keeping an operator's
life simple, but not in this case.  Lose the box in = box out mentality and
do it the ADSM way.  Since you have DRM, keeping track of the volumes in and
volumes out is not hard.  It does mean that tapes in the box must be removed
and shelved at the offsite in order to facilitate their movement back
onsite.

Full and incrementals was never a good idea.  It was the only way to do
things.
