I checked all the usual websites (yours, IBM, Tivoli), but can't find any
current information on ADSM device support/certification. My understanding
is that all versions of the 3590E drives are standard Ultra-SCSI drives.
Since the 3494 is attached to a Sun Solaris 2.6 system, I would think the
only possible issue is whether E1A drives use a new (versus earlier model
3590E drives) Unix device driver.

  1) Can you confirm whether the 3590E E1A uses the same IBMtape device
driver as earlier model
3590E drives; if not, whether IBM has issued updated drivers for
Solaris 2.6 ?
  2) Do you know of any other issues with use of 3590E E1A drives with ADSM
?
  3) Is the 3590E E1A officially supported/certified for use with ADSM ?

Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
