Eric,
I believe that the reboot has been necessary since 3.1.0.6. I had some Dr.
Watson problems with the client scheduler that plagued me until I decided
that we would reboot after a client install - no problems since then.
I know that before we've always been able to get by without the reboot, and
sometimes that is almost impossible. However, after a few strange problems
with other products, I've decided to reboot after any install that messes
with the registry. It isn't worth the aggravation later.
