Is he running autofs? Is he using /u for home directories? There is a bug
in the
3.1.20.6 client where the code that avoids backing up autofs mount points
gets
a little overzealous and avoids backing up anything that begins with the same
letters as your autofs maps. E.g. if you are using /u and have a map file
auto.u,
then it will not back up any filesystem beginning with 'u'.
There is a fixtest but unfortunately I can't recall the APAR right now.
Either
look through the readmes in ftp://index.storsys.ibm.com/adsm/fixtest/aix/4.2/
or make a problem call and get IBM to look up the APAR.
