My understanding is that the problem with TODATE has been that it
restores both 'active' and 'inactive' files, giving you a lot of files
which were deleted on or before the 'todate'.  PIT just restores files
which were 'active' at that time.

I'm still confused about the use of "pitdate" to do restores on the V3
client.

I know that pitdate uses the no-query-restore protocol, and todate does not.
But is there any difference in the RESULTS you get with these 2 commands?

dsmc restore -pitdate=05/05/1999  c:\my\windows\directory\*
dsmc restore -todate=05/05/1999   c:\my\windows\directory\*


Enquiring, confused minds want to know.....
